Hometown Holidays 2020

Downtown Dover

As with many other events, Dover Main Street is unable to host the annual Dover Downtown Holiday Party but we have some other ways to celebrate the season…….

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town!!!! Dover Main Street in coordination with the Dover Fire and Police will escort Santa Claus down many streets of Dover on Saturday, December 19th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Check out his route here to see if Santa will be passing through your neighborhood this Saturday afternoon and listen closely for the firetruck and police car as it may be Santa spreading Christmas cheer!  We too are disappointed, but unfortunately, with Santa’s busy schedule and without his magical sleigh it is not possible for him to make it through every neighborhood.

Ice Sculpture:  Keeping with our annual holiday party, Dover Main Street will be presenting a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer ice sculpture.  The sculpture will be created on site by the holiday tree at Henry Law Park on December 17th, make sure you check it out.  Interested in watching this block of ice become a work of art, check out the video of its creation after the 17th at www.dovermainstreet.org.

Deck the Doors, Dover:  In the spirit of the season, and spreading much-needed cheer, Dover Main Street invites you to post a photo of your home and/or business door decorated for the holidays! On Instagram, tag @DoverMainStreet or comment on our “Deck The Doors, Dover!” Facebook post with #DeckTheDoorsDoverNH#DoverMainStreet

Food Drive:  Please help us help others by donating food at our annual food drive.  Between now and December 19th while you are treating yourself to a dinner out or finishing your shopping at one or all of Dover’s finest retail stores please leave a canned good for those in need.   Those businesses accepting donations of non-perishables are Alie Jewelers, Bending Bodhi Yoga, Christopher’s Third Street Grille, Cinco de Mayo Bar & Grill, Diverge, Erin Claire, Kendall Pond Pizza, Ross Furniture & Mattress Gallery, 603 Bar and Lounge and Suppa’s Pizza Dover.   Donations will be collected on December 19th and delivered to the Dover Food Pantry.

Dover Dollars:  Don’t know what to buy someone for a gift? Need multiple gifts for a group of people? The answer is Dover Dollars!  A great gift and a great way to support our local community.  Dover Dollars are available for purchase in $5, $10, $20, and $50 denominations and can be picked up at the City Clerk’s office, Garrison Hill Florist, Jewelry Creations and by calling ahead at Dover Chamber of Commerce.   Dover Dollars can be redeemed at most local Dover downtown businesses and restaurants.

All of us at Dover Main Street wish you Happy Holidays!
