Dover’s Run Before You Crawl 5K and Pub Crawl a hit

March 10, 2018

DOVER — The annual Run Before You Crawl 5K and Pub Crawl once again brought hundreds of people to the Garrison City on Saturday.

The race, the kickoff event for the Dover race series, had a slight delay, a car accident along the route. Carrie Vaughn, director of Dover Main Street, the group that organizes the event, said it was only a short delay.

“The accident happened at the intersection of Sixth and Chestnut streets, right on the route,” Vaughn said. “It was cleared up quickly, with no transport required. So we started the race. More than 600 people raced. It was wonderful. And the pub crawl, well of course that is a success. We expect about 1,000 people.”

In the men’s division, the winner of the race was Zachary Switaj of Dover. Second place went to Christopher Dunn of Kennebunk, Maine, and third to Justin Orr of Dover. On the women’s side, first place went to Rhyan Radack of Portsmouth; second to Kara Hewitt of Dover, and third to Heather Stover of Rochester.
